Is there a CSS way to align <hr /> to td middle?

No.
See your screen shot, all those strings with different lengths with without hyphens, etc. (and you have not made it difficult with those sections names).

Re: themes on 4.8beta

BTW – I like the idea of having the status “pill” (development / live) attached to the section name. That makes it more easy to scan quickly. The current situation makes that table a bit cluttered.

I don’t think you need that separation line before the status indicator in that case (except eventually to force it on a second line).

Yep, that’s fine:

But a little bit unclear for Themes (what the difference between the green message and the orange one? A tooltip could be added):

Now that overridden assets are barred, I agree, a line-break would suffice.

Re: themes on 4.8beta

Just seen this thread – anything I need to check over? Hoping we can get 4.8 beta2 out in a few days.

Now that the status indicator has moved to the name column, is the removal of the <hr class="secondary"> still something you are considering (and replacing it with a <br>)?

(changes to the multi-select widget)

[etc]: without [switch_dev_live] string the wording is fuzzy.

[Bloke]: Maybe. If it’s more confusing, I’m fine if the commit is reverted. Just trying it out.

I played a bit around with themes over the WE, with my partner looking over my shoulder. We both found it (having those two entries in the multi-select) to be confusing. The way the multi-select widget displayed things in 4.7 is more clean and clear. On 4.7, even if you have both types selected (Live and dev) you quickly understand the action only applies to Dev. Granted that is a bit (one? kills me…) clicking.

@Bloke

I see you have reverted to the previous behaviour.

Thank you!

Re: themes on 4.8beta

I’m not really getting the ‘development’ pill under the ‘name’ column of sections panel design, with strikethrough on live theme, and so on.

Why was this changed exactly from the proposal? Is there something lacking in the proposal that I’m unaware of? I have to admit I’ve not read back through the thread too far so apologies if I’m retreading over old ground.

Re: themes on 4.8beta

See this post which sums up the issue with having the pill in the ‘theme’ column that spawned the changes.

I haven’t tried the latest dev yet so I wasn’t aware that the struck-out content made it in. I’ll take a peek when I get a chance today.

Re: themes on 4.8beta

Ah, I think I see now, thanks Stef. It’s the strikethrough on live theme which is making this seem more confusing that is should be. If that is removed I think the UX process works.
