I like that. That’s exactly how I see Textpattern and what I really cherish about it.

This is indeed a great description. I am mostly thinking of txp providing the eggs rather than the omelet, allowing you to prepare the recipe you want.

I think the full WYSIWYG is still needed. Although there are related plug-ins, the functions are not complete.
I have been following the progress of textpattern.
对于使用中文的普通用户,使用Textile编辑文章比较困难。

It is a fair point. And while everyone mentions there are a fair number of plugins released over the years, I don’t believe that any of them are currently working with the latest versions.

Could you tell us what kind of bugs or strange behaviours you are experiencing? Admittedly, although I remember some complains by some non english users in the past, I do not remember any from users writing in Chinese.

I have mentioned this quite a few times. For Japanese and Chinese (and possibly Korean not 100% sure), you cannot use any inline Textile, such as _em_, *strong*, links, etc. Reason: Textile needs spaces before/after the markup. There is none in CJK.

Not quite true:

对于使用中文的普通用户,使用[_Textile_]编辑文章比较困难。

The square-bracket syntax isolates the Textile, but it is more characters to type, so admittedly not ideal.

That works for some tags, but still breaks for links, possibly because there is not really a closing symbol (just before the the closing ]).

对于使用中文的["普通用":http://example.com/]户,使用[_Textile_]编辑文章比较困难。
