How to have more than two categories per article?

I need to use more than two categories for each post, however the textpattern limits me to two categories. How can I do to increase this?

Re: How to have more than two categories per article?

Sadly, you’re limited to two in core at present (there are plans to change that afoot, but it’s not slated just yet). Options:

  • Use custom fields as faux metadata storage. You might even be able to combine them (comma-separated) and match that way with some clever logic or tag matching to pull them out and filter by them. This aspect is improving drastically in the next release (due in the next few weeks hopefully) because it’s possible to filter by custom field from the URL.
  • Use rss_unlimited_categories that has been updated since it was orphaned and should work. Not tried it though.
  • Switch to tagging, via something like smd_tags.

Hope that helps.
