Dark Space ([phw_darkSpace]), a dark admin theme for TXP 4.7 and 4.8

This theme has been discontinued and is no longer available.

I had this in a nearly forgotten corner; someone may like this. Dark brooding colours. It is a bit experimental, playing with CSS Custom properties (aka CSS variables). Some rough edges possible, hence the beta status.
It is otherwise quite similar to the Sandpace admin theme.

Supported browsers: Need support for CSS custom properties – Safari, Mobile Safari, Firefox, Chrome and derivatives (Opera, etc) latest 2 version and possibly older, Edge 16+. note IE 11 is not supported.

Nice concept; like the screenshots, thanks. Can’t install it alongside Sandspace though because:

Fatal error: Cannot declare class phw_sandspace_theme, because the name is already in use

You might want to change the class name so it plays with its brother nicely ;)

Destry, as you mentioned in other threads that you have an older MBP, a question. How well does this theme do on your (maybe slightly worn-out) monitor? Is the contrast between the various level of dark-grey enough? It is more a question of perception.

And I can only test on recent display-P3 screens on the iMac/MBP13-2017 and iPad latest generations. On the cheap Windows laptop I have it doesn’t look great, but nothing looks good on that screen.

Looks good to me, even with my fading eyes. I also keep my screen brightness way down most of the time, and even there it looks fine.

I’ll be using it for the more short-form pieces. But the scrolling body field isn’t terrible, in fact. ;)

Re: Dark Space ([phw_darkSpace]), a dark admin theme for TXP 4.7 and 4.8

Some minor bug fix update and ready for TXP 4.7.3. This will probably be the last update for the TXP 4.7.x branch.

>> Download

The script that powers the menu also saw an update. I’m not sure why, bootstrap version 3.3.7 worked perfectly fine for more than 2years and the update does not bring any added or improved functionality. But then updating is what the cool kids seem to do. The script is now at bootstrap v 3.4.1.

Of note – I’ll soon have a beta version of Sandspace with support for both light and dark mode (Safari version.next on macOS 10.14.4 and Firefox 67 – who knows about Chrome.)

This theme will possibly be discontinued, depending on how Textpattern.next build-in support for dark / light mode evolves. It is possible that Sandspace will be the one theme to handle it all.
