How to set SMTP?

I want to send mail with a third party smtp, how to set it up?

This is issue has nothing to do with Textpattrn … you can just search on yr question:

for example. https://www.mailgun.com/smtp/free-smtp-service

I am not talking about the need to parse MX records. I am talking about trying to send by phpmailer.

There is no function in the core Textpattern to send email using an SMTP server, although there is an open issue to track it.

I have the same problem. Would be nice, if there was a plugin or if it was a core function of Textpattern.
