dynamically retrieving thumbnails

Is there a plugin that will automatically pull a thumbnail assiciated with an image from a specific article?

I’m mostly going to use TP as a photoblog. When I’m loading my images, I’m also loading a thumbnail. And what I’d like is for the article itself to display the full sized image, but in the comments pop up, to display the thumbnail.

I’m also having some struggle with creating a master archive page that dynamically displays all thumbnails in a table format, but I can save that for later (unless someone knows a quick method).
