Glyph character problems

I started getting these ( ) in a site wherever there should be a French character accents and footnote daggers, etc. It wasn’t that way, then just was. Can’t think of what happened. It’s just been writing and styling work, no database piddling on this one.

Suggestions how to fix this?

EDIT: Hmm… forum won’t display the glyph, but it’s the black diamond with a white question mark in it. You know, that thing you alway see when there’s a character problem.

Re: Glyph character problems

Hi Destry
Would it be the encoding in the config file?

Re: Glyph character problems

utf8mb4

Should it be something different?

I’ll do a db dump and see what it says there.

EDIT: All the db tables seem to be utf8mb4 too.

Re: Glyph character problems

Do the character replacements appear in the database rows, or just the outputted HTML?
