Footnotes-to-sidenotes
I could really put this to use in some essays I’m working on, footnotes as sidetones, but I’m a little skeptical of the JavaScript at this point as it seems to be untouched in last five years.
Phil, is possible to make the current flavor of javascript provide for this in relation to Textile, or too much trouble? I could wing it myself on a case-by-case, but just want to make sure I’m not installing some version of JavaScript unnecessarily.

The old demo isn’t responsive either, just noticed, but I’d assume the sidetones could be made to drop down into a bottom list position in small sizes.
Makes me wonder, though, if you could mix side notes with other sidebar items, like CTAs, ads, article lists, whatever. Hmmm…
Even so, a clean essay with only sidetones is an attractive idea.

Looks like there are options:
- Responsive sidenotes for Markdown.
- Sidenotes V2
