Featured At:

On the Textpattern.com home page, left sidebar, there’s a Featured At: section.

This is powered by the people who bought up the PunBB project, which spawned the FluxBB project, which powers this forum.

Do we really want to give link goodness to FluxBB’s competitor?

No shit, so they’re paying projects to put up sidebar links to sites that supposedly mention your project.

Let’s take the case of jquery.info, a random pick from the sidebar links, a site that’s running SPIP :

<meta name="generator" content="SPIP 2.1.10 SVN [18315]" />

Their mention of Textpattern comes by way of someone commenting on a story, that features mentions of WordPress, SPIP, Dotclear and Drupal.

So Informer.com has built a spider, not a very intelligent one at that.

I hope they’re paying you a lot.

Re: Featured At:

Lookee here, Informer found a post that Matt Mullenweg did back in 2003, they should rename their spider the WayBack machine.

textpattern.com was featured at ma.tt/2003/01/the-blogging-software-dilemma/

You know, I’ve got Powered by Textpattern on all my sites, I have written numerous articles on Textpattern, yet I’ve never seen one of my sites on the featured list.

Does Informer have it out for me?
