Generic Using Plug-Ins Question

a spin-off of “a very stupid question” in the How Do I… forum.

the gist i get is that most plug-ins are used in forms rather than pages… correct? i’ve installed the pfa_beginning plug-in, installed it and all seems well… except it doesn’t seem to work for me.

in my default form:

<code>
<h3><txp:permlink><txp:title /></txp:permlink> · <txp:posted /></h3>
<txp:body />
<p><txp:comments_invite /> </p>
<p>* * *</p>
</code>

ok, is the basic default form. i’ve tried numerous ways of inserting the <txp:beginning> tag… i’m not getting it obviously. does the tag need to be wrapped between other tags? i’ve read the discussion on this particular plug-in.

tia

EDIT: 35 views and no answers? too funny.

Re: Generic Using Plug-Ins Question

replace <txp:body /> with <txp:pfa_beginning />.

Make sure the plugin has been activated, too.
And you’ll probably want to put this in a new form, so that you can show excerpts (pfa_beginning) on a list page and the whole article (txp:body) on individual article pages.

I also answered in your other thread.

Re: Generic Using Plug-Ins Question

thanks for the info. didn’t work, either as <code><txp:pfa_beginning /></code> or <code><txp:beginning /></code>… which was the plugin usage put forth by the Author. i’ll dig into it further as i have time. surely i have something borked up.

thank you again.

peace!
