Clarification needed on "Freelancer" rights

I know that as a Freelancer a user can edit their own drafts, but not make any edits once the article has been changed to Live status. That’s good.

But what if an article is later changed from Live to Hidden or Pending… Does a Freelancer get edit rights on the article again if it’s Hidden or Pending? (I’m hoping the answer is “no”).

And what about if it’s changed from Live to Draft again? Edit rights? (I’m assuming this is “yes”, but just want to make sure.)

Thanks in advance.

Re: Clarification needed on "Freelancer" rights

If I understand the code correctly, a Freelancer can edit articles unless they are published, and ‘published’ is either live or sticky. That would mean Freelancers can edit their own pending or hidden articles. (Someone please correct me if I’m wrong!)

A workaround, albeit a bit clumsy, would be to keep the article live or sticky, but add an expiration date (if you’re not showing expired articles otherwise).
