Can I have the ability to delete spam posts?

There’s a spammer filling up Core Development with junk (15 posts in 15 minutes). I’m reporting posts, but I’m wondering if I could have the rights to just delete the posts and perhaps disable the account for persistent spammers, rather than keep filling up the moderation queue with reports (which I can only do at the rate that s/he can post, what with the 60 second time delay). Thanks!

You should now have moderator status, I assume that gives you permissions to delete posts and ban users.
