SEO: Authorship with rel="author" - how do you do it?

I was just playing around with the various SEO opportunities Google has to offer, namely Google Authorship. I know I can choose whether to use 3-Link or 2-Link approaches but both would require to either hardcode my Google+ URL in my forms (totally unflexible) or use one of the user defined fields (so error-prone) or use smd_bio (which appears nice, but overkill if I am just a single author with very sporadic guest posts).

Is anyone here using the authorship functionality with Google+ already? If so, which way did you choose to implement it in your Textpattern site? If you plan on doing it – how would you approach it?

I use the 3-link approach with smd_bio and an authors section with profiles of the authors in the hCard microformat. I already did something very similar so wasn’t much of a change in structure or design to move to smd_bio and add a field for the author’s Google Plus profile.

Stef’s plugins are becoming part of my standard tool kit when I build sites with Textpattern these days.
