Christmas fund for TXP Developers 2012
It is once again time to thank our dedicated group of Textpattern Developers for their efforts, hard work and dedication with our annual Christmas fund raising effort.
This is the third year that we have organised this – last year US$1600 was donated by 47 Textpattern community members and in 2010, €930 was raised. So this year, we aim to hopefully raise a little more.
If anyone needs a good reason for donating, please consider that there have been more code revisions to Textpattern in 2012 than some previous years combined.
How it works:
- To donate, please visit TXP Tips and donate using the PayPal button
- Note that donations will go to my personal PayPal account
- We collect donations until December 31st
- I’ll update this post every few days regarding how much we have collected and the donors’ names (unless he/she wishes to remain anonymous)
- On January 1st the total amount collected will be split and sent directly to each Developer’s PayPal account
Thanks in advance to everyone. And remember who you gave your heart to last Christmas…!!

Re: Christmas fund for TXP Developers 2012
Reminder: And we have two new TXP dev team members who – rabbit like – produce log entries in a row.
- Phil, chained to the design polishing machine chewing the hard stuff where I even don’t want to know what Move links category column to end to match dropdown menu hierarchy might mean.
- Jukka ‘Gocom’, deep down in ancient TXP spaghetti code mumbling That exception is no longer true. or the cryptic Hi there Mr. Alternate. You smell funny..
Special thanks to all those folks who take care of the Textbook updates (aka multi-language TXP documentation).

@Jonathan:
Due to the fact that your donation link need to create a PayPal account (what I don’t want) I made mine directly from the TXP main website for two guys. Sorry for that :(

Patrick – really? I thought payments did not require a PayPal account?

Jonathan &
Joe.
Ok I found the problem: PayPal chooses for some countries to force creation of an account. That’s the fact for french users!

Jonathan, I guess Joe wouldn’t mind if you’d take his graphics from below the fold up into the first post in order to convince some more folks of the feasability of a donation.
When the Paypal page opens (yes, they process also the non-Paypal payments) click the link joebaich has marked, then you can choose your country from the dropdown menu (Hongkong is preselected). After that you’re presented with the available payment options.
For payments from Germany you don’t even need a credit card, you just have to have a giro account and can pay via debit advice procedure (Lastschrift, in German).
