turning off auto-thumbnail creation?
hi,
just a short question, when uploading an image, a thumbnail is created by default – is it possible to turn this off, so that replacing the large size of an image does not automatically replace the thumbnail?

Re: turning off auto-thumbnail creation?
I think removing the values for height and width would have this effect. And you’d have to re-enter them when you want to have a thumbnail created.
No, sorry, just tried. Don’t know where my opinion came from. Keep trying to remember, though, I do have images with no thumbnails.
Edit 2: What worked was:
Emptied the values (de-activated “Crop” to be safe) and pressed “Create”. Then uploaded an image, and the previous thumbnail remained.

Re: turning off auto-thumbnail creation?
that does the trick. Maybe in a next update a tickbox could be added after the “replace image” field, “create new thumbnail”.
It’s funny, after I’ve deleted the size values from those input fields once (say while replacing picture A), even if i go on to replace another image, it stops making the thumbnails (when i replace picture B).
thanks for taking a look.

You’re welcome.

Having a general, not an image related, preference spares us entering two values on uploading each new image.

Ticked by default: I’d not vote against it :)
