Can I write plain text in an article?

Is there any way to write plain text in the body of an article. I mean, I’m integrating a javscript syntax highlighter and when I insert code, I need it to not to be escaped, nor inserted tags on it, so it appears nicely with the syntax highlight. It is programming language code, so it is important to not to change it.

I have tried putting it into the textile tag “==” and it is not working. I have tried also some plugins but they don’t work because I can’t write a tag in textile text.

Any solution? Thankyou in advance.
