loads of russian url's visiting a page on my site.

Hi, for the last couple weeks there have been a daily hits to my site from multiple random russian websites. Everyday there are new russian urls.
The page they are linking too has nothing to do with the content on the russian sites as far as I can tell. Anyone see something like this before?

Welcome to the club:)

If you study those urls, you’ll notice that they come from very few specific ips.

I block them by using

Order Allow,Deny
Allow from all
# spam referrers
Deny from 24.173.150.18
Deny from 46.4.211.193
Deny from 46.17.97.223
Deny from 46.17.99.190
Deny from 50.117.55.157
Deny from 50.117.55.172
Deny from 50.117.52.227
Deny from 59.39.88.116
etc

in the htaccess file. I try to have the ips in order so as not to enter any duplicate ones and to make sure that the rule works OK.

I always thought that was just referrer log spam—they are trying to get people like you to visit those websites.

true, but it messes up the stats logs.
