Unable to connect to textpattern.com:80
When working with my localhost install of textpattern and a remote copy hosted by my web host I keep getting the following error message when publishing a new article. The article is published to the site but it takes a while for the back end to process it.
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to textpattern.com:80 (Connection timed out) in /home/r40685/public_html/textpattern/lib/IXRClass.php on line 671
The error message only happens when publishing a new article. Every save after that goes through very quickly with no errors.

As a guess I’d say it’s the Ping Textpattern.com setting in advanced prefs. Try turning it off.

Blokeman to the rescue. Thank you that fixed it. How strange I’ve never had a problem with having that preference enabled before.
