Duplicate article URLs: How not to?

Hi,

how do you keep clients from posting duplicate article URLS, when writing several articles about the exact same thing, e.g. the title is the same (and therefore the same URL) as an already existing entry??
Is there any way not to having to teach them to alter the URL/meta entry manually?

Thanx in advance!

Re: Duplicate article URLs: How not to?

Hi jayrope if you set the permlink mode to include the article id or date in the settings, you shouldn’t have a problem. Also textpattern warns you if you post an article to a URL that is already in use I believe.

Re: Duplicate article URLs: How not to?

I posted some thoughts on link design a while back – perhaps one of those will help.
