Passing on a value between articles

Hi,

Is there a way to pass the article_id of an article to another page?

For example, to be able to include on a second page a link back to the first page a user has clicked from.

I’ve tried experimenting with <txp:variable /> but had little success.

On another project I’ve used a plugin’ to pass on a value of an article via the URL, but I’m wondering if there is a less ‘visible’ version of that.
