create a post from soundcloud

soundcloud is a great service for hosting and now recording audio. i was wondering how one goes about integrating it with textpattern? I assume it involves building a plugin and then something with the rcp-xml import that i’ve seen in other services. would it be easier to skip any api integration and just look for a plugin based on simplepie?
