[wiki] Updating for deprecated attributes

<txp:css n=”“ /> has been changed to <txp:css name=”“ />

I’m sure I had read it in the change log, but had glossed over it until the deprecated warning came up on my site.

I went to Textbook first, and according to it, the attribute was correct. Then I thought I’d better double check the change log, and there was notation.

I would have gone ahead and made the update to Textbook (I think I have a log in somewhere around here from long ago), but I don’t know when is it appropriate to update Textbook about changes like deprecated tags and attributes? After the stable release? once the RC is out?

Thanks for the guidance
Mike

IMO not before the stable release is out. As far as I know name won’t work in 4.2.0, and that is what the majority of Textbook users will have.

Re: [wiki] Updating for deprecated attributes

Thanks Els!

Fair – and sensible :)

One last semi-related question

Is there a wiki page (or did there use to be in the old version) of deprecated tags/attributes, etc.? And is there still a page that has something like future tags/attributes? I have a fuzzy recollection of maybe having seen something like those, but am not finding them now.

Yes. Tags In Development is the place where the stuff gets collected. The lists, like the Tag Reference, might be slightly outdated as the lists are not auto-generated from source (or auto-compared to source).

One thing to improve in TXP5 is code layout and commenting. Possibly comments that could be used to generate references.

Could also boost the Developer Town’s and Plugindev Town’s population. Currently Bakersville is winning.

We also have Future Tags… Which one is supposed to be the ‘official’ one?

And is this an acceptable temporary solution?

Re: [wiki] Updating for deprecated attributes

Jukka and Els – thank you for the links.

Jukka – Auto-generation/comparison sounds like a plus.

Els – the notation in the genealogy subsection works really well imo. Nice thinking. Thanks :)

fwiw:

The tags in development page seems a bit more detailed, and more current. Though it lacks the pdf download of the new tags (if that is a big deal).

Title-wise – the “Tags in Development” sounds slightly more polished (to me).

I’d lean to consolidating future tags into Tags in Development. . . .

Thanks again

Mike
