Installation issues

I downloaded textpattern – unzipped it – uploaded it. Fairly sure that I got that right :-)

Started the installer – trundled through the intallation. All good.

On the site the first thing I see is a SQL error:

Warning: Unknown column 'load_order' in 'order clause' select name, code, version from txp_plugin where status = 1 AND type IN (0,1) order by load_order in /var/www/html/textpattern/textpattern/lib/txplib_db.php on line 85

which of course is actually correct. there is no column of that name in that table.

I am a bit sad because I was excited to move away from Drupal to something that I hoped was a bit more streamlined. But this didn’t go so well. Can anybody make me happy again?

Re: Installation issues

No plug-ins. I just installed for the first time.

(Actually, I installed twice and got the same result both times)

I don’t even know how to go to ‘admin’ yet – how do I log in?

Thanks for your help! Sorry to be a newbie :-)

Re: Installation issues

Your login page should be accessible from yourdomain.com/textpattern/

What do you see there, no login page?

Re: Installation issues

OK. I hadn’t even got that far. Wow – it is fun being a newbie – you get to ask lots of dumb questions.

When I log in all I see is a page with a small textpattern logo && you are logged in as Nick && logout link

That’s it.

Thanks again guys :-)

Nick

Re: Installation issues

Hm, you should see the Write tab – weird.

But do you see all the usual tabs at the top like content, presentation, admin? If so, can you go to admin > diagnostics and tell us what you get.

Re: Installation issues

As I say I see none of that.

Can I post screenshots on this forum?

Re: Installation issues

OK. I take that back. I logged out and back in twice and now see the page.

In diagnostics I get a warning about ‘setup’ still being there – which it is. Then a list of diagnostics which all look pretty all right.

Re: Installation issues

You need to upload them some place else first and then embed here using Textile enclosing the path with exclamation marks:

Sounds fine then, just ditch that setup folder.

‘New Members’ can’t link to images I think. But don’t worry, as soon as you’ve reached your 10th post you will be ‘upgraded’ and get all the ‘Member’ privileges ;)

The warning occurs on most fresh installs of 4.2.0. Just log out and in again and it’s gone. I’m sure it’s written down somewhere, can’t find it right now.

The setup folder should be deleted after you’ve completed the installation:
