MySQL Database

Hi there, I’m hoping that someone can help me. My site was recently attacked and after it was cleaned up I changed all my passwords as advised but now I find that when I log onto my site it’s telling me that my database is unavailable, this is because I changed the password of MySQL Database on my host servers website in my account.

The problem now is that my website config.php file (and others) are still looking for the old password which I can’t change back because of new password criteria. Can somebody help me with this issue as the IT dept. with my hosting company have simple told me to update the config.php file with the new password. I have done so and it still doesn’t work.

Thank you, Nigel

Re: MySQL Database

Simply update the current MySQL password in the config.php file, so it matches the new password you had to set for the MySQL database.

Hi Ruud, thanks for your reply. I have already done this but I’m still getting the same message.

There is nothing else to change, than the password in /textpattern/config.php as Ruud said. If that doesn’t fix it, it could be that you are using wrong password, wrong username, editing wrong file or fetching the error page from browser’s cache.
