install question

hi,
I’m replacing an old webpage with a textpattern powered site. it’s not a blog but a company site. I want to keep the old site online until all the content is transfered to the new site (no export/import, I have to fill in the content by hand). that will take a few days. I thought of using a subdirectory (i.e. domain.com/newsite/) and install textpattern to this subdir first. and once the site is ready I delete the old files in the root dir and move the contents of the sub dir to the root directory. but I guess it’s not that easy, that is I think there’s probably problems with moving the installation like that. any ideas?

Re: install question

No – that’s fine, I often do it that way – there is a tutorial on moving your installation here.
