should we get rid of textile?

en…….maybe this make someboy unhappy, sorry.

I love textpattern, but I don’t like textile and never use it.

Is it possible that we get rid of textile from textpattern?

I think that can make more people like it and can make it more popular.

What do you think?

Re: should we get rid of textile?

Is this a feature request? If it is, you are in a wrong area. If it’s how-to-do question, you can turn Textile off.

If it is a feature request, why should it be removed. You can turn Textile off, you don’t need to use it if you don’t want to. And as most likely some of current users use Textile, it probably won’t happen any time soon. More likely some upcoming version (like 5.0.0) of TXP includes a markup callback.

Textile has been TXP’s markup since ever, at it is much better than some bulky WYSIWYG editor, if that is what you are after. If it is none, then it’s even worst; just plain (X)HTML.

Get rid?

No! I’m very happy with Textile. It offers the same simplicity as TxP.

Re: should we get rid of textile?

Textile is one of the main reasons I use TxP -and the few times I’ve strayed, it has been to other CMSs that use Textile too.

Wouldn’t want to be without it.

Re: should we get rid of textile?

I really like textile (despite maintaining a WYSIWYG editor plugin), I use it exclusively, but it would be nice to have a way to use other markup processors through plugins.

Re: should we get rid of textile?

As Jukka said, you can just turn it off.

I very much prefer having it.
It’s easy to learn and users pick it up quickly, too. Using its simple syntax the output will always be clean, and it prevents users from messing things up.

That’s not a very good reason to ask for complete removal ;) As others already stated: there is a simple preference setting to disable it.

Re: should we get rid of textile?

I don’t like watching television. How can we get rid of them?

Sorry, but what reason do you have?
Do you want another substitution?
What is your indention?

Or it’s simply trolling?
