How can I duplicate/copy an entire site from one domain to another?
Hi,
I’m very new to all of this stuff (I’ve had to take over duties for my company’s website due to the person who set it up ceasing business).
What I am hoping to do is to ‘duplicate’ a website and use it for a new domain (still using textpattern). The reason I wish to do this is to make an international website that closely resembles the local one already up and running.
If anyone knows how this can be achieved and can provide me with some info on the process of doing this it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Parts of that process will apply but in short it could go like this:
- Place a new copy of textpattern in your new sites root directory, remove the /setup folder and edit the textpattern/config-dist.php to reflect the new database conection.
- Export your existing site’s database in PhpMyAdmin which will give you your duplicate.
- Create a new database for your new site and import your duplicate.
- Check Admin>Diagnostics for paths to correct. Will tell you to delete /setup if you hadn’t already.
I probably left out something but that’s a starting point.
