Before switching to multiple categories...
Talking about categories (elsewhere) reminded me that if I want to see all textpattern.org plugins that are classified both ‘articles’, and ‘list’, actually I can’t. I can list by ‘articles’ (whatever the 2nd cat), or by ‘lists’. Can’t combine the two. There is nothing in the database preventing from this: is simply lacking an appropriate tag, and maybe an url scheme.
This can be vaguely related to facets classification, or filtering articles with multiple indipendent criteria, if you want. At the moment I think that can be done with glz_custom_fields, but never tried. I wonder if someone has experience about that.
My concern is: before switching to multicat, it may be useful to elaborate about this, to avoid textpattern losing flexibility, first of all; eventually gaining it. In worpress, to say, this is even more difficult, as far as I know. (but there is the Scribio plugin that I haven’t explored).
