[resolved] Strange admin login problem
I have a strange admin login problem where nobody is able to login to a textpattern (4.0.8) site. The error message we get back is: “Could not login with that name/password.”
Some facts:
- Everything has worked fine with this site up to today, I’m not aware of any changes that occured today
- I have this same problem from any computer, any browser
- One computer’s browser is already logged into an account, and it continues to work
- on that computer trying to login to a different account (with different browser) fails the same way
- Wondering if it was due to a MySQL change on my server, I did a password reset through the textpattern UI
- The new password generated by textpattern also failed login
- I also have other textpattern (4.0.7 & 4.0.8) sites on the same server from the same hosting company, and everything works fine
- Using that account that is still logged in, I disabled all plugins wondering if there might be a plugin issue (didn’t help)
I’m quite stuck here and definitely need help!

Well, it turns out that the SQL reset of passwords worked to regain access to the site. Not sure why it was necessary. Equally puzzled that the ‘password reset’ mechanism isn’t a solution to the problem.

you might have had a table corruption.
