Clarification on thumbnail crop
Just wanted to confirm if my understanding of thumbnail crop is correct:
When you want to create a thumbnail after uploading an image, if you just specifiy either height or width, the ratio of the image will be maintained. In other words, you can end up having a strip of the thumbnails that are either equal in width variing in height, or vice versa.
In contrast, by checking “crop”, you can have a thumbnail with specified width and height and still have the ratio maintained. e.g.: to creat 60×60 thumbnail from the original 600×400, which portion of the original image would be lost in the “shrunk and cropped” thumbnail? In other words, how does TXP crop, starting where, ending where, against what?
Thanks for clarification.

Re: Clarification on thumbnail crop
With a 600×400 image it takes a 400×400 square in the middle of the image and scales that to 60×60. So if your image has a landscape orientation, 100 on the left and 100 on the right will be ‘lost’.
