Dusting off an idle Txp weblog?

Over a 2-year period spammers have attempted to (manually?) use a contact form at an otherwise idle Textpattern weblog. Has their use of that form to send emails been putting anything in the MySQL db that needs to be deleted/fixed?

Or…if that weblog has been idle for a couple of years, is there anything that should be done to the database prior to resuming posting?

As a side note, the weblog has been consistently updated to 4.0.6-7-8 as they were released. However, no testing, posting, etc. was done. Any tips?

Thanks.

  1. What is used to operate the contact form? Any known plugin like zem_contact, or a custom development?
  2. Just post.

Yeah, zem_contact (old) is one of the plugins the designer used. I’ll sort out whether or not it needs to be updated. I’ve got other relics to sort through as well like comments captcha’s, etc.

Looking forward to getting back to daily use of Txp.

Nice work to you and others!

Thanks.
