Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

I have this problem also.

Was it ever resolved? The bug was reported again but I never saw a reply in the two years that followed the initial report.

As previously reported, the plugin chokes on any file larger than 2MB, even though my host’s master max upload size is 8MB and my local .htaccess file has it set to 1000MB.

Since most of the files I need to manage are in excess of 2MB, this bug makes the plugin functionally useless to me; at this point I regret having paid for it.

I am running 4.3 if that helps.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

I’ll check it again, but going from memory there is not a hard-coded max-file-size in the .AS for ebl-upload. I’m at work and won’t be able to look at it again until I’m home later tonight.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Before I purchase: does EBL Upload 3 currently work with TXP 4.4.1?

Also, I have a feature request/inquiry. fpx_image_import allows for the following:
  • option to automatically import meta info into the caption
  • option to automatically use filename without extension as alt text

I am curious if it might be possible to add these options to a future release of EBL Upload?

Thanks!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

This plugin does not respect max file size prefs set in Textpattern admin, nor in PHP.ini, so I am unable to upload files larger than 2MB. The problem was reported in 2009 and I have heard nothing from Eric in more than a month since I asked him about it. At this point, I consider it a lost cause, and while it’s probably fine for images, I cannot recommend this plugin to anyone who needs to manage large binary files in TXP until this issue is addressed.

There is a fix upcoming, but unfortunately I’m short for time before school starts in two weeks, and then I’m out of commission until the winter break.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

This weekend I upgraded an old 4.0.5 site to 4.2

My client requested multi-image upload so i purchased this plugin. Unfortunately I am also getting Error #2038.

I tried all the .htaccess fixes without success.

Is there a solution?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Error – invalid serial.

The host name must match what is used. Email me and I’ll add another/look at your current one/

I believe that an invalid serial number is not the issue if you are referring to me since the error is 2038 and not 2049, however i did e-mail you a couple of days ago and have heard nothing form you as yet?

EDIT: rephrased above statement

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

I’ve two weeks for a simple reply yes or no as to if there is a solution. I understand that Eric may be busy and respect that, but simply to ignore the couple of e-mails i have sent to him and ignore this forum is not right. I got no auto respond – out of office message – so one can only assume that is this day an age he got the mail.

@Eric If there is no solution, just say it. No problem. Just refund me my money. No hard feelings.
Good luck with your other projects.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Perhaps you should check your spam folder before I’m accused of ignoring you. #2038 has been covered. Your host has mod_security applied which is rejecting the uploads. Apply the htaccess patch to your htaccess file in the root/textpattern directory and it should, theoretically work fine. If not, find out what additional measures your host is implementing.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Thx for your reply.
As i had already mentioned the .htaccess fixes did not work. I asked my host about their configuration and mod_security isn’t enabled on that server, nor is PHP’s Safe Mode. So those aren’t causing the issue.

Slightly offtopic relating to the problems you are facing, but security-wise it would be good to update to newer version than 4.2.0. Textpattern releases older than 4.4.0, including 4.2.0, are affected by major known security issues. If I were you, I would update to v4.4.1 as soon as possible, otherwise your server’s security is at risk.

Anyways, I hope you get the issues solved.
