Files and Images Directory Permissions?

So when it says these directories should be writable… is that 755 or 777?

Depends on your server. If server’s user setup is done correctly it should be chmod 755. Also note that 777 shouldn’t be used, it always should be 755, because 777 allows too free writing, especially if you are on shared hosting enviroment.
