cbs_maintenance_mode

I’ve recently installed v0.2 of this plugin and it almost works perfectly; the only drawback is that, when activated, it still shows my site’s sidebar and navigation. Obviously, I’d prefer if it removed all content from the site and replaced it with the maintenance message. I’m not sure exactly how the plugin works, so don’t know what to suggest to fix this.

Re: cbs_maintenance_mode

As the documentation says, the plugin uses the default error template: error_default. Edit this template to remove your website navigation, just keep your website logo and the error code and message. If you want a custom template for offline mode, which is different from the default error template, use another plugin: ort_maintenancemode.

Re: cbs_maintenance_mode

Hi Christophe (Salut Christophe ;)

I use your plugin with an “error_503” page template (as Ruud’s maintenance plugin) and I’ve got exactly what I want : a custom maintenance page!

Christophe : any chance to have a warning message within the back-end to inform users that the website is currently not visible by anybody. Could be usefull if you leave a website under maintenance for many days… (si vous êtes distrait) you can forget to turn off the maintenance mode…

Cheers,

Re: cbs_maintenance_mode

Thanks Pat, I was going to tell the same thing to stopsatgreen: you can use the default error template but you can also create an “error_503” template for this purpose.

This plugin is like rvm_maintenance, the only differences are the switch, the ability to set the error message shown by the <txp:error_message /> tag and the fact that logged users will also see the offline website.

I like your suggestion of warning the user on the admin side when the website is currently offline, I’ll add that feature.

Re: cbs_maintenance_mode

A new version has been published. It displays a warning message on the admin side when the website is in maintenance mode.

Re: cbs_maintenance_mode

This plugin is totally sweet. You may want to message that this requires a relatively newer version of Textpattern; I tried installing on 4.0.5 and it no workie. Upgraded to 4.0.8 and worked like a charm. Keep up the great work.
