Redirecting site
Is there a way to keep my current contents of my textpattern directory – ( domain.com/textpattern )
but have the content point to the root? ( domain.com )
or is the only way to accomplish this by moving the contents of the textpattern directory to the root directory?
Another example:
I currently have ( domain.com/textpattern )
and I want ( domain.com ) to reflect what shows at ( domain.com/textpattern )
Is there a way to do this without moving the contents of the textpattern directory?

If you installed Txp following the instructions, domain.com/textpattern/ is your admin interface, and domain.com is your site. The way you are describing your situation it looks like you installed it in a directory /textpattern/.

Thank you for the reply Els.
That’s exactly right. I’m not sure how that happened, but that’s what I ended up with. It’s currently like this “domain.com/textpattern/textpattern”
I know I need to probably either move everything back a directory or reinstall – however, I currently have files that are full of content at “domain.com”, etc and am worried when I move the two textpattern directories back I’ll mess up temporary content I currently have live.
Is there a way to do this without disrupting what’s currently live?

If you follow the guidelines in Textbook (Moving Installation from Subdirectory to Domain Root on the Same Server) it shouldn’t be a problem, though this assumes that there is no other content in your domain root. Would it be possible to move the existing content to a subdirectory?
Edit: have a look at the rvm_maintenance plugin. If you move your current content to a subdirectory, you could link to it from your 503 page.
