Can TXP do this....?
Hi,
I’ve been a web developer for a couple of years doing PHP/MySQL and CSS/XTHML.
I’ve been using WP in the past few months and have installed and played with both sNews and WP and really impressed with the latter.
OK, “get to the point” I hear you say.
I am just wondering if TXP can do the following:
- Allow my client to ‘replace’ the home page image as often as s/he wishes
- Upload Files/PDFs to specific posts in categories
- Add images(auto-thumbnails generated) for specific posts
- And would a non-tech-savvy client be able to add/update posts without much hassle. I assume so as I found it VERY easy.
It seems to be right up my street, but I’m not sure if I should just stick with WP for quickness sake.
Regards,

- Yes. (Automatically changed/random image: Yes.)
- Yes. (Upload is done separately (not to an article), and “connected” via tag pasting.)
- Yes. Multiple images require a plugin (hak_image, upm_image, …)
- Yes. (Though styling requires more hassle permissiveness than editing text ;)
In bad weather I never leave home without wet_plugout, smd_where_used and adi_form_links

Yes x 2.
- article_custom for new posts. file_download_list for PDFs, or to associate files with posts, check out upm_file.
- It is pretty easy for average people to edit posts. The biggest problem I have is with them pasting in Word docs, but you can’t really stop it (mangled special characters).
Download and play with TXP :). Bookmark the TextBook and the tag index.
