The following PHP functions...

Hey all,

This is my first post, since I just started experimenting with textpattern over the last few days, as part of a family website.

I’ve run through the basic install and got it running no sweat, however, the diagnostics give me the message:

“The following PHP functions (which may be necessary to run Textpattern) are disabled on your server: posix_setegid, posix_seteuid, posix_setgid, posix_setpgid, posix_setsid, posix_setuid”

These functions don’t seem to be listed in the FAQ, so I figured I’d take the advice and ask here.

What kind of effect will losing these functions have on textpattern? And if necessary, are there any workarounds?

These functions aren’t needed.
