Assigning multiple links to multiple categories
I would like to create lists of links that can be added to as time goes on. The general idea is that I have a list of services and a list of locations that I want to create links for. I want to have lists that are something along the lines of:
Location One
Service One, Service Two, Service Three, Service Four, Service Five, Service Six, Service Seven
with each of the services listed being a link to an article about that particular service.
Another location may have different services offered, with some of the same ones from the first list, like:
Location Two
Service One, Service Three, Service Five, Service Nine
I then need to be able to reverse the process to offer a list of services that shows which locations offer them, like:
Service One
Location One, Location Two, Location Five, Location Nine
with each location being a link to the article about that particular location.
Through the link management area, if I could add each link to more than one category, that would solve my problem. Then I could just output a list of links for a category and I would have my list.
Is this possible- or is there a plugin or something that would work? Or am I just missing something?
If you want something you have never had, then you must be willing to do something you have never done.

Re: Assigning multiple links to multiple categories
Service One, Service Two etcetera are articles, right? Using links to link to articles doesn’t seem very logical to me. Besides, links can only have one category. Articles can have two, but you could have a look at rss_unlimited_categories. I think with that plugin you can easily do what you want (Location One, Location Two etcetera would be categories then).

I would use tags/keywords for that case as you can have plenty enough of them.
The recommended plug-in is tru_tags.
Using the core TXP template tags article and article_custom plus some if/else statements will do the output in every way you like it.
Use articles instead of the core link feature as Els said and you’ll be happy.
The only thing which you have to keep in mind is that it is difficult to realize an AND search for more than one search criteria because the TXP core search always does an OR search!
If you decide to i.e. use category1=location and service(s)=tag(s) then you are also able to realize some very sophisticated filter matrices via the mentioned article template tags.
