wlk_qt makes site not validated?

Is there a way I can fix so the site can be validated with a MOV.file in an article? Or is there a small, simple alternative for inserting a MOV.file in an article?

I really don’t know how to modify this plugin. I tried replacing embed with object and no movie shows up.

I use the_video for most mm content and with a little customisation all validates just fine.

Excuse me. But mine uses object w/ embed if you aren’t using the javascript embed option. And if you are using the javascript embed option (preferred option considering eolas, et. al) the site will validate.

Re: wlk_qt makes site not validated?

Sarah, please provide the following:
  • how do you use the plugin in your template?
  • what is the resulting HTML code?
  • which validation error does the w3c validator give?

As Walker already indicates, there’s a good chance this isn’t caused by the plugin (or TXP for that matter).

Re: wlk_qt makes site not validated?

Ok, I had to include the JS then put a notextile. before the wlk_qt tag so it is now validated. Thanks guys! :)

Ah…yeah, if you’re using the tag in the article itself (and not a form) then you need to make sure you’re not letting Textile wrap it in p tags.

Re: wlk_qt makes site not validated?

Why am I getting this warning when I put full URL to the .MOV file in the custom field:

txp:wlk_qt Warning: CustomField[video]=http://domain.com/files/filename.MOV. Make sure that given file exists and has vaild path.

Re: wlk_qt makes site not validated?

I’m guessing that file_exists on your server doesn’t support full url usage.

If you just go to production mode, that will disappear.
