A live sorting menu

So basically I want to do this:

a menu that is able to sort things in this way. So Genre is a category which contains a child category (the year, which has nothing to do with the post date) that contains articles.
Is there a way of doing this? Rss_livearchive kinda does the trick, but sorts on year -> month, not really the way I like it..

Any chance of making this possible?
