Move TXP install to new dedicated server

Hey all, I currently have 6 different TXP driven sites that I want to move from regular shared hosting, over to a dedicated server and get them all on the same machine. Each site is currently on it’s own shared linux hosting plan.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on the steps that I would need to follow in order for this to go as smoothly as possible? Most importantly, backing up the databases and them dumping them to the new server. I have used the rss db manager plugin in the past, but lately that thing just seems to throw errors and so I don’t want to rely on that plugin to make this work.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

So far I’ve always done it as described in TextBook and never had any problems.

Awesome, thanks a lot for that! I could have sworn that I searched through Textbook earlier today for that! This method looks like exactly what I need.
