Change order of sections in list

I’ve just installed Textpattern – no problems.

Also the popular Misty template.

This has Section tabs at the top.

Can I change the order of these Sections or do I need to carefully plan the order – Delete the present Sections and input them again in L-R order.
This seems inflexible but if it’s how it is … I’ll just have to do it.

Thanks
Geoff

Re: Change order of sections in list

no. deleting and recreating the sections does not constitute the order they appear. i’m not familiar with the template you’re using so the section list could either be in a page(s) or form. it should be re-orderable via the tag the author uses. possibly look for a <txp:section_list /> tag somewhere in there.

Re: Change order of sections in list

Thanks Steve,

I found it in the Header form – I’m still not sure how I can change the order … I’ll ‘Google’ it and see if I can find any info.

In the meantime if any one here knows I’d appreciate the help.

Thanks
Geoff

Re: Change order of sections in list

what does the header form contain? if it has a <txp:section_list /> tag, you can add attributes to it to order it the way you want.

for example if you have sections “about”, “articles”, “archive” and you wanted it in that order, you would modify the tag to look like <txp:section_list sections="about, articles, archive" />

for full tag info, check here

Re: Change order of sections in list

Thank you Steve,

Found this and I’ve got it working. The admin interface is a little tricky at first as is the <txp: /> syntax, but I’m beginning to familiarize myself with the way Textpattern works and it is very impressive. I’m pleased I chose this ‘way to go’.

I’m now hacking away at the templates and CSS creating pages and forms … hope I don’t need to hassle you too much :-)
