New Titles?

Am I seeing wrong, or is there new titles for users on here, TXP Support Forums? What is the complete set of these user titles? Till now I have spot:

  • Newbie
  • Plugin Author

Plus our beloved old titles :P Newbie is possibly a newbie (o’really? :P), but what it’s the difference compared to Alpha? And plugin author possibly is user that have posted topic to Plugin Author Support forum, right?

Is there more of these new things? :-)

Re: New Titles?

Strange, in the user list the good old alpha/beta/etc titles still show. I like those better than newbie, because ‘newbie’ has some negative associations.

Re: New Titles?

It would seem that a “newbie” is someone who has registered this year. Others are still shown as “alpha” so “newbies” are mixed in with “alphas”. I’m not too keen on “newbie” either as it can give an inaccurate impression. A long-time TXP user who has only decided to register with the forum this year will be designated as a “newbie” which doesn’t seem right to me.

Also, if we are going to keep it then it should have a small “n”.

Re: New Titles?

Folks in the “New Members” group. Makes it simple to identify why you might not be able to do certain things yet.

Re: New Titles?

Then maybe ‘New Member’ would be a friendlier and more accurate title than ‘newbie’?

Re: New Titles?

Anyway, when I last posted here, I had changed it to “New Member” already. To me “newbie” doesn’t have a negative connotation, but…

Re: New Titles?

Maybe it’s somehow negative word, how knows ;) But if there is newbie, where is our “Old Grandpa” :P

Re: New Titles?

Maybe another type is required for the upper sectio of the spectrum. It is so unfair on stuart as he’s being stuck on omega for so long now.

Re: New Titles?

‘Tis true Yiannis though I am the only omega at the moment. I can’t remember when omega kicks-in it’s been such a long time, but I think it may be 1600 which means Bert might join me soon. Anyway I was thinking of something fun like “TXP Addict” but maybe something more suitable would be “Approved Advisor” which kicks-in at 2000 posts? Not that I’m pushing this you understand. “Grandpa” would be appropriate as well. :)
