... do a custom sort using mysql syntax?

An article_custom tag is outputting ‘event’ articles.

But I would like to sort the results based on the field called event_date in the zem_event_date table.

Is this possible using the sort attribute?

(The zem_event_list tag is not an option in this case.)

Not possible, article_custom can only sort based on column names in the main textpattern table.
