XML-RPC for Textpattern

I am a newer user to Textpattern, so this may be something that I am doing wrong. Previously I used MovableType for years, so this is a whole new system to me, but surprisingly a much better one that MovableType for the everyday blogger.

So I have my txp customization almost all the way done, and now I’m looking to be able to use Windows Live Writer and/or Flocks Blogging Tool to update my blog, yet the XML-RPC plugin/addon for txp doesn’t seem to work. I have gotten nothing but none stop errors. I get the mentioned error about the WLW/FBT not detecting the sites API automatically, so I manually enter my sites info including the link to the rpc (http://mysite.com/rpc/) and I am continually not achieving a successful login.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so have you figured out a work around.

Also, my installation of TXP 4.0.5 came with the txplib_wrapper.php file that is included in the XML-RPC download. So I have tried to use a blogging tool with the XML-RPC version of the file and the version that came with my TXP 4.0.5 download.

Any insights into these problems?

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern

I haven’t used XML-RPC, but maybe this post has some answers for you.

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern

well, that did give me a bit of insight into the issue as hand, although it did not give me any solutions, as that pertains to using the XML-RPC with a mac based blog program, not WLW or FBT. Thank you for the reply anyways, I’m going to contact flock and look at some WLW resources to see if anything has turned up.

Re: XML-RPC for Textpattern

I think, it would be easier with Simplepie and This.
