help plez "Diagnostics"
I been try to set up textpattern on my web site www.savile-row.com with “ http://thegentlemenslull.com/manual/textpattern/1-installation.mp4/ “ (great video) but my “Diagnostics” page shows a lot of red .

textpattern-4.0.5.
Notes:
1: I have deleted Setup file
2: no plugins installed
3: use mysql
I use fasthost.co.uk to host my site all file are in a “htdocs” folder

Are you using an SVN installation? If you are then having your site in “Debugging Mode” (Preferences) will show most files as having been modified as most of them have been since 4.0.5 was released. “Testing” or “Live” mode will remove them.

where did you gt txp from? Was it from the download link on textpattern.com/download ?

Just got of the phone from fasthost
The server (which I am on) dose not use “.htaccess “, file.
Only linux dose. Dose this mean i need to change to a linux server?

Thanks, fasthost telling me that all i needed to do is change to a linux server and that will be that (wasted of 1/2 a day). still had .PHP file wrong Bye Bye fasthost
what do we think of www.siteground.com

An .htaccess file is only necessary if you want clean urls, and that won’t cause the warning you got.
Chances are that what you’re getting is the result of FTP upload – what transfer type did you use, ASCII or Binary?
