Debugging mode causes blank front end

So when I enter debugging mode my entire site goes blank. Any pointers or troubleshooting thoughts:

This may, or may not, be related but something similar happened to me with debugging mode recently — although with a different symptom: internal server error. You might find something in here.

Thanks for the suggestions Steve, but I tried commenting out the lines that Mary suggested to no avail. There’s nothing in my error logs, and I have no idea what’s going on.

Any other possible ideas?

Does switching to a different clean URL mode make any difference?
Plugins all off? (if any — didn’t spot them in the diagnostics)

net-carver – it appears to possible be the same issue. Commenting out the lines from the tagerrorhanlder and pluginerrorhandler resolved the issue. Investigating more….
