automatic thumbnail generation without specifying both height/width?

using TXP 4.0.5, i just realized if i upload an image and i have the thumbnail width set to something like “200px” but leave the height blank, no automatic thumbnail is generated. this is happening on several of my txp installs. i thought it worked like this before but i may be wrong?

i can still hit the ‘create’ button and it generates a thumbnail just fine. but i’m pretty sure this was automated on upload if you specified at least one of the height/width attributes.

oddly enough if i upload an image via the plugin lam_image_uploader, i DO get a thumbnail generated without having to specify both height and width (ie. i can just set width to 200px, leave height blank and thumbnails are always generated to that width while the height is automatically proportional).

are my TXP installs borked or is that how its intended to be?

Re: automatic thumbnail generation without specifying both height/width?

I think this is fixed in 4.0.x SVN, changeset 2536 to be precise.
