How to export a list of posts
Hi all,
I’m debating leaving textpattern for wordpress because of the lack of xml-rpc (I couldn’t get the cludgy txp hack solution to work well) .
Anyways, one thing I really need to do first is export my posts into a file. I remember when I used movabletype it was really easy and all the posts basically went into one text(xml?) file that was easily imported. I’d like to do the same thing with txp but I haven’t been able to find out how.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much, this forum has always been great to me over the years.

Why don’t you use WordPress’s Textpattern import?

Re: How to export a list of posts
as usual it looks like it’s anything but easy :(
but both posts were pretty helpful, because I didn’t know that wordpress had a textpattern import and now I also have some steps.
What I really wanted though was a way to turn all the posts into a big text file for personal reference because I feel like starting from a blank slate.
I know you can use myphpdatabase (or whatever) to save the textpattern database locally, but is there a way to convert it to a textfile or read it normally with a program?

I could be completely wrong, but I think if you import into a wordpress – exporting to movabletype should be pretty easy. But here’s a script to export txp to mt format
