TXP Page Password Protection failing
Hi, can anyone on the Forum help with this, I’ve used <txp:password_protect login="login" pass="password" />
with a page, and although the password form appears okay, the form is not processing the correct details when entered…and it just sits there on screen until cancelled (which of course provides the correct ‘User Authorization’ error message!)
Why isn’t this working?
It worked fine on my site before (not too long ago in fact) and I haven’t made any changes as far as I’m aware.
This was a simple task in TXP – that has now failed to work :(

Re: TXP Page Password Protection failing
Yeah, spotted that one when I initially searched for a solution, but wasn’t sure if it would work okay. I’m trying it now.
I updated the .htaccess file and the taghandlers.php file as suggested – it didn’t work…

Re: TXP Page Password Protection failing
Anyone else got any ideas on this? I tried the suggested SVN change, but this hasn’t resolved the matter at all. It remains…weirdly.

Would you post your full diagnostics please?

Sure Mary….that would be great! Mmm, do you mean the Textpattern Diagnotics info (from the Admin Section)?
I won’t post all of that information here – is it OK if I e-mail that across to you though? :)

Re: TXP Page Password Protection failing
Further question – which could be related to this (as yet unresolved) matter….
My web hosts (Dreamhost) state that their Servers “….run php as a cgi instead of mod_php” – would this be a factor?
If yes, does this mean Textpattern is screwed – or is there a setting I can change in TXP that will solve all of this?
Cheers.
Matt

Re: TXP Page Password Protection failing
Matt, TXP 4.0.6 (release upcoming soon, very soon) will have some improvements in this area, although getting it to work with CGI requires a bit of luck ;)
